Es comentario general en la comunidad de moscas que el “cambio climático” se está haciendo sentir; y cuando teníamos que estar inmersas la comunidad de moscas en el frio y ventoso otoño que tanto daño nos hace, parece que estamos llegando a la primavera. Y no solo en cuanto al clima, sino a la alteración que la primavera produce en todo ser viviente. Las moscas vuelan, las plantas brotan, los pajaros trinan, etc. etc.

Los políticos renuevan sus mensajes y aquellos que no querían ser colas de león prefiriendo ser cabezas de ratón, se atreven a pedir que desaparezcan “los leones” políticos, para que ocupen el poder los “ratones”. “Ratones” que en algunos casos dicen ser defensores de la democracia y por otro lado, al más puro estilo fascista, vetan derechos establecidos en la constitución, como es el derecho a la información a algún medio de comunicación (que es lo mismo que negar el derecho a la información al público en general).

Special Price list.
The association has completed the revised and updated senior citizens' special prices and discount list and urges all senior citizens to obtain a copy from either the Office of the Ombudsman or from the Citizens Advice Bureau who have kindly agreed to copy and distribute on request.

In this list, which we consider contains of interest for everybody, we have been able to obtain special concessions from car spares and services from 2 car dealers, chiropodists and podiatrists and other health related services, clothing retailer, do it yourself merchants, electro domestic appliances through to 15 hairdressers, home repairs, mobility products, optometrists through to removals and 7 restaurants, travel insurance, tyre repair service and yoga among others benefits.

It is most important that we make use of these concessions not solely to obtain better value for money goods and services, but also to show our appreciation to the participating traders for their kind cooperation.

At the end of our special price list, we also include the names, telephone numbers and e mail addresses where applicable, of the association's committee members. Ministry for Housing.
The association committee met specially to discuss the recent article in the media whereby Lands and Works would not be effecting repairs to sinks, baths etc and have requested a meeting with the Minister for Housing or with the Chief Housing Officer to discuss this issue. The Minister has kindly agreed to a meeting and we shall be reporting on this at the earliest opportunity

Handrails at the War Memorial.
We are indebted to Mr. Jurado, who after learning that we had not been successful in the installation of handrails at the USA War memorial, informed us of his intention to write to President Obama to request his authorization to proceed with this project. He now tells us that he is trying to obtain details of costs and so on and that as soon as he is possession of all relevant information, he shall immediately write to the American President.

We have in the meantime however, spoken to American Naval personnel who have offered to find out and even possibly obtain the permission and go ahead to our project. We are naturally very grateful for their interest and look forward to hearing again from Mr. Brandon, the American gentleman is processing our request.

Dear Sir

I write in reference to the letter sent by Mr Juan Carlos Perez replying to a letter my husband, Julio Pons Published in your paper; Mr Perez had the audacity to mention my family. In this letter he claims that my family are followers of the GSD. If that would be afi, I wouldn't even have bothered writing this letter. But I would like to stress that we are free to choose whoever we want.

What has offended me deeply is that he assumes we are affiliated towards the GSD for some suspicious reason. Of course this is what he is used to, since that's how things used to work in the past. For your information this is not my case. What has convinced me of voting for the GSD, and I speak only for myself, since you don' have the right to mention my family. Specially because you don't know who they voted for, and all they have and poses has been earned by there hard work!

What has convinced me and only me, is how much Gibraltar has changed for good, even if your party try to convince us otherwise. For that and only that I voted for this Government. I would like to emphasise, I'm neither deaf nor dumb so whenever the situation changes, and I don't agree with the way things are going, you can be sure that my opinion would change.

Neither I nor my husband sells out to anyone, and you must know this since you know him for a long time. For this reason he doesn't deserve to be offended. You know that Julio only cares for the good of Gibraltar, and I'm with him one hundred percent.

I hope that this has clarified things once and for all, so please don't ever mention my family again.
