GHA STAFF AWARDS 2009

The Gibraltar Health Authority is once again inviting members of the public who have a good story to tell about their treatment in the GHA in the last 12 months and who would like to nominate one of the GHA's staff, or a team of staff, for an award.

This was introduced in 2006, the GHA Staff Awards Programme is designed to recognise and reward the good quality of care provided by their staff.

There are 6 categories:

PATIENT CARE AWARD - to the individual/team who have made a significant and ongoing improvement to an aspect of patient care in their department the throughout the year.

WARD/DEPARTMENT OF THE YEAR - to the ward/department for their continued excellence in providing high standards of health care services throughout the year.

INNOVATION AWARD - this award will be given to the individual or team who have successfully introduced the most innovative new idea in health care.

STAFF AWARDS - these two new awards replace the old GHA Award. Two awards, one for clinical staff and one for non-clinical staff, will be made for consistently outstanding work. Only GHA staff can nominate for these awards.

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD - to the individual GHA employee who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their work and to the improvement of health care services over and above the normal requirements of their job in the year.

The awards will be presented to winners at a special ceremony to be held in June 2010.

Nomination forms can be obtained from St Bernard's Hospital, KGV Hospital, Primary Care Centre and Community Mental Health Unit, or members of the public may contact the GHA on Tel. 20072266 Extension 2079 and ask Jane Marzan for a nomination form. Forms may also be found on the GHA website, www.gha.gi. The closing date for the receipt of nominations is not until the 31st March 2010.
