At lunchtime on Wednesday and Thursday, the residents of Mount Alvernia were treated to tapas and entertainment, provided by members of the MOD's Support Division.
The residents were also treated to the singing of Corinne Cooper and the bagpipes of Tony Galliano and Alex Nunez.
Susan Rocca of the Support Division explained the background to the MOD lunch. 'It has become an annual event since Abraham Seruya and I organised the first one six years ago. It's good to have the Command involved in the local community and especially as many of the residents have members of their families who worked for MOD in the past.'
'The residents here always have a good lunch,' stressed Douglas Gomez of the Care Agency. 'But they love the music and the costumes and having some new faces around the place. Most of all the residents look forward to something that's different.'
As Douglas spoke, Charlie Chaplin and Snow White waltzed past him - and it doesn't come any more different than that!
